On the Concept of Disposition (epsilon xi iota sigma) in Aristotle's Ethics

The purpose of the text is to show Aristotle's understanding of the concept of disposition (epsilon xi iota sigma). We will focus in particular on Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics, which will represent the starting point of the inquiry at which we will subsequently link other Aristotle's works. We start the debate on dispositions with the question on their coming to be. At the same time we focus on the treatment of different activities, from which different dispositions generates. These different activities are specifically oriented, we act in a concrete situation, we create a specific, concrete creation. Only from multiple, concrete actions and creations, dispositions are generated. This generated dispositions have an effect on our subsequent activities, and are revealed through them.
