BACKGROUND: Displaced acetabular fractures are a challenging problem with high incidence of osteoarthritis if managed conservatively, in patients with articular incongruity. Displaced fracture should be a case for operative fixation unless specific criteria are met. The aim of our study is to study the results of ACETABULAR FRACTURES managed with operative management, the effect on hip joint function, operative difficulties encountered and the incidence of complications with this method. AIM OF STUDY: is to review the relevant literature. Study the results of acetabular fractures managed with operative management. To determine whether it's a safe, simple and reliable method in the management of acetabular fractures. To study the effect on hip joint function, study the operative difficulties encountered and to study the incidence of complications with this method. METHOD: This study is prospective study of 17 cases age 20 - 70 years maximum of patients age 20 30 years. STATISTICAL ANALYSIS USED: Short term follow-up is based on Harris hip score, marled aubigne hip score, matta radiological grade. RESULTS: Short term follow-up results were excellent to good based on above criteria (excellent 70.5 good 17.6, fair5.8, failed5.8.)
