There was gradual reduction in the population of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici after 10, 20 and 30 days of solar treatment. It was most effective in mulched plot. Seventy per cent reduction was observed in the population of F. oxysporum f. sp. lycopersici in mulched plot after 30 days of solar treatment at 5 cm depth. The maximum temperature (55-degrees-C) was recorded in mulched plot. The results depict that solar heating of soil can be used to control several other soil-borne pathogens.
