Long chain branch generation in ethylene alpha-olefin copolymerization systems with or without metallocene compounds

摘要
Copolymerization experiments of ethylene and alpha-olefin were carried out with several types of polymerization catalyst systems. Titanium amide compounds were found to generate copolymers with long chain branching when pre-reduced by alkylating reagents. It is speculated that such titanium compounds can easily make beta-elimination and also do incorporation of the resulted higher alpha-olefin into ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer chains.
