摘要
This paper presents empirical tests for stationarity of fiscal deficits for three Latin America countries. It also examines the causality patterns between government expenditures and government revenues. Long historical series (covering most of the 20th century) for Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico are used. The findings suggest that deficits were stationary in Argentina and Mexico but not in Brazil.
