ASYMPTOTIC BEHAVIOR OF ELECTROMAGNETIC FORM FACTORS

摘要
The asymptotic behavior of the electromagnetic form factors of the nucleon and of the M1 form factor for N→N*(1238)+(virtualγ) is examined, using (1) superconvergent sum-rule techniques and (2) SU(6)W symmetry. The former yield conditions that are the same for the NN*γ form factor and the Pauli form factor F2(t), and that do not require the Dirac form factor F1(t) to fall off faster than |t|-1. The SU(6)W symmetry leads to a differential cross section for N* electroproduction exhibiting a faster asymptotic falloff (by a factor |t|-2) than was obtained by previous authors. © 1968 The American Physical Society.
