Generalized pustular psoriasis is Pare in children. About 100 cases have been reported in the literature, Children generally have less severe lesions than adults. The annular and mixed patterns are more common than the Zumbusch type erythrodermic pattern. Retinoid therapy has considerably improved the outcome, Two new cases of generalized pustular psoriasis are reported in two brothers, both of whom had a history of psoriasis vulgaris in infancy, Generalized pustular psoriasis of the Zumbusch type occurred at ten years of age in one and 12 in the other. Retinoid therapy was effective. Annular pustular psoriasis occurred at each attempt to discontinue treatment. Familial cases of generalized pustular psoriasis are extremely rare in the literature. Both brothers carried the HLA Al and B17 antigens. Psoriasis vulgaris but not generalized pustular psoriasis has been reported to be associated with HLA B17.
