摘要
A simple, high-yield method for the isolation of the pterocarpan phytoalexins glyceollin I and III has been developed. Isolation and purification were achieved using a combination of silica gel column and preparative radial chromatography. Isomers I and III were purified to > 95% as shown by HPLC. Both caused proton leakage from sealed red beet tonoplast vesicles and isolated tonoplast vacuoles. Glyceollin III was more active than glyceollin I in causing proton leakage.
