The formal report of the World Health Organization Scientific Group on "Evaluation of Methods for the Treatment of Mental Disorders," background papers which constitute this and forthcoming issues of the International Journal of Mental Health, has been published by the Organization in the WHO Technical Report Series as No. 812 (Geneva: World Health Organization, 1991). The final conclusions and recommendations of that report are reproduced below.
