ADAPTIVE FINITE-ELEMENT METHOD FOR MIXED CONVECTION

This article presents an adaptive remeshing finite element method to salve heat transfer problems by mixed convection. Solutions are obtained in primitive variables using a high-order finite element approximation on unstructured grids. Two general estimators are developed for analyzing finite element solutions to planar and axisymmetric mixed convection heat transfer problems. The methodology is applied to heal transfer predictions for two cases of practical interest.
