COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION FOR STEEL ON CONCRETE AT HIGH NORMAL STRESS

摘要
Experiments were performed to determine the coefficient of friction between concrete and mild steel. The nominal normal stress varied from 1 psi to 68,000 psi. The coefficient of friction was measured at these very high stress levels in the hope that it may eventually partially explain the bond mechanism between reinforcing bars and concrete as a friction phenomenon. The results obtained are, however, of some general interest and are therefore briefly reported here. © ASCE.
