摘要
The object of this system is to collect exact meteorological data in Japan automatically, and to process them quickly by computer. The automatic meteorological observation equipment which observes the amount of precipitation, wind speed/direction, sunshine duration and air temperature, are located at about 1,300 points throughout Japan. The data obtained are collected at the computer center through the switching network by the automatic telemetering method. After rearrangement, data are sent to about 60 forecasting centers through private lines. Using these data, the forecasting centers can make accurate weather forecasts and give timely information about storm warning, etc.
