CHARGE-TRANSFER IN HNO3 GRAPHITE-INTERCALATION COMPOUNDS

摘要
We have determined the Pauli susceptibility of the third stage of the ''normal'' and ''residual'' HNO3 Graphite Intercalation Compounds (GICs). Using the pi band structure of two-dimensional graphite, the charge transfer ratio was estimated. This ratio for the ''residual'' compound is substantially larger than that for the ''normal'' compound. This means that the charge transfer ratio increases with decreasing intercalant sandwich thickness.
