SPATIAL DISPERSION OF EXCITONS IN ZNO

摘要
The reflection and transmission spectra for intrinsic excitons exhibiting spatial dispersion are calculated in the case of ZnO for which drastic deviations from classical behaviour are obtained. Compared with the classical optics higher refractive indices, less absorption and a pronounced shift of the maxima of the absorption curves toward higher energies are found. Some parameters for ZnO are obtained by fitting the calculated curves to the experimental spectra. The calculations support Thomas' model for the valence band assignment in ZnO. © 1969.
