摘要
Metal-doped copper ferrite spinel oxide series: MxCu1.5Fe1.5O4, are precursors adopted recently to enhance the efficiency of catalysts in energy industries. The non-stoichiometric spinel copper ferrite, CuxFe3-xO4 series (x less-than-or-equal-to 3) were earlier accredited superior to all simple mono-metal oxides including Ag(x)O [Mater. Chem. Phys., 25 (1990 331-337]. In the series of the copper ferrites, the various activities of the spinel oxides were assessed ab initio in this study, the activities of these semiconducting spinel oxides were compared with these simple metal oxides and the kinetics of the processes. This paper also compares the various doped copper ferrite synthesized and correlates the particle size and the doped metals per se in categorizing the efficiency of these doped oxides. The various equimolar composition of metal-doped copper ferrites are identified in this study to supersede the activity of the copper ferrites. In addition, these metal doped spinel oxides exhibit two properties, viz., as an activator and as a suppressant, as observed in the catalytic decomposition of hydrogen peroxide.
