摘要
The quasi-elastic model of nuclear electroexcitation has been generalized to include the effects of binding and the distortion of the wave function of the emitted nucleon by an energy-dependent nuclear potential. The model predicts cross sections which are in good agreement with the inelastic spectra observed in 12C experiments. For 16O, however, the experimental cross sections are larger than predicted especially for small energy transfers. This may be due to correlations associated with multiparticle-hole excitations which are not included in the model. The inclusion of the Perey effect, which is necessary to guarantee the usual electron scattering sum rules, was found to be very important, reducing the cross sections by 30 to 40%. © 1969.
