摘要
In many mathematical applications it is needed to approximate a given function with another function. Trigonometric series are used for the approximation of periodic function. If the function can be approximated by a trigonometric series, it is talked about expanding a function in a Fourier series. Wavelets represent the newer part of mathematics which is extensively developing. With wavelet series, the accurate representation of the function is achieved with fewer terms and faster calculation.
