摘要
A probabilistic comparative study of base isolation systems is carried out. Laminated rubber bearing with and without lead plug, resilient friction, and EDF base isolation systems is studied. Nonstationary stochastic models for earthquake ground acceleration are considered and the method of equivalent linearization is used for response analysis. The root-mean-square displacement, velocity, and acceleration responses of a rigid structure with various base isolation systems are evaluated. The results are compared with those obtained from several Monte Carlo digital simulations and good agreement is observed. Probabilistic analysis of displacement limit crossing is also carried out. © 1990, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.
