NONLINEAR GAIN EFFECTS IN QUANTUM-WELL, QUANTUM-WELL WIRE, AND QUANTUM-WELL BOX LASERS

摘要
We investigate the nonlinear gain effect in quantum well, quantum well wire, and quantum well box lasers theoretically. The results indicate that the nonlinear gain is enhanced with the increase of the quantum confinement. Effects of the nonlinear gain on modulation dynamics and spectral properties are also discussed, showing that the nonlinear gain significantly affects these lasing characteristics.
