MAGNETIC DISACCOMMODATION BETWEEN 30-K AND 300-K IN LOW-TEMPERATURE NEUTRON-IRRADIATED IRON

Magnetic after effect measurements are made on α‐iron samples after neutron irradiation at 77 K to a dose of 1.98 × 1022 neutrons m−2. The various relaxations which occur are analysed and their correlated annealing behaviours are also investigated. Since vacancies are generally considered to be immobile below room‐temperature, these relaxations are discussed in terms of interstitial and interstitial agglomerate relaxations.
