Degradation process of Gd2Zr2O7 TBC system during static oxidation test

摘要
Degradation mechanism of thermal barrier coatings of Gd2Zr2O7 type during static oxidation test at 1100 [degrees C] in air was characterized in this article. The investigation range was as follow: characterization of kinetic growth of TGO oxide layer, and microstructural description of this region including morphology, chemical composition and phases constituent of oxides by using of EDS and EBSD method. The basic conclusion was acceleration of degradation process in the case of Gd2Zr2O7 ceramic layer even though the lower thermal conductivity of new type of TBC. The reason of this fact was relate to perovskite oxide formation of GdAlO3 type between ceramic layer and alumina from TGO layer.
