摘要
The structure of a new amorphous Mg50Ni30La20 alloy, indicating an extremely wide supercooled liquid region, has been investigated by the anomalous X-ray scattering (AXS) method. A characteristic pronounced prepeak was observed at Q= 14 nm-1 in the intensity profile. The environmental radial distribution function (RDF) for Ni was determined and the ordinary RDF was also obtained using the Mo Ka-radiation for comparison. The intensity profiles and RDFs suggest that Mg atoms form strong local ordering clusters with the other constituent elements Ni and La in this particular amorphous alloy. © 1990, The Japan Institute of Metals.
