摘要：
Design axioms are basic principles which provide guidelines, reference frames, and specific quantitative methodologies for enhancing product quality. The design axioms can be used from the initial stages of product and system design through the final stages of controlling manufacturing processes. This paper reviews the design axioms and specific methodologies, and illustrates the basic concepts involved by providing examples.
