This article has attempted to examine some of the more useful websites that cover issues of policing local communities. As was stated above, the quality of these sites is somewhat varied, with those news websites that are regularly updated probably being the most useful. However, nearly all of the web pages mentioned here are worth accessing, as they each have different assets that help the researcher understand the complexities of contemporary police-community debates, especially concerning the policing of diversity, where many of these debates are located. In the space provided here it was inevitable that many useful sites were omitted from discussion, including, for example, those hosted by local constabularies, many of which contain details of community policing strategies.6 Nevertheless, it is hoped that this piece has offered a springboard for those interested in examining these issues in what is a rapidly evolving and perennially topical field of interest. © 2005 Perpetuity Press Ltd.
