摘要
Electronically conducting polymers, such as polypyrrole and its derivatives, combine a number of properties which make them attractive potential materials for application in an enzyme-based biosensor. The use of conducting polymers to entrap redox enzymes at electrode surfaces is briefly reviewed and the important features are discussed. The use of conducting polymers to make simple bioelectronic devices responsive to the particular enzyme substrate is described.
