CALCULATION OF THE BALLISTIC RELOCATION CROSS-SECTIONS

摘要
The basic quantities characterizing atomic mixing processes are the relocation cross-sections. In this communication, relocation cross-sections obtained analytically, by means of the power law interaction potential and the so-called continuous slowing down approximations, are compared with the results calculated by Monte Carlo simulation where recoil atoms are allowed to scatter and in which a more realistic interaction potential, such as Kr-C, is used. The dependence on the angle of incidence of the projectile, for both mechanisms, recoil and cascade, is also shown. Good agreement between analytical and Monte Carlo simulation results is found.
