Computer-aided technologies age and must be replaced with new generation equipment and systems as appropriate. This does not cause problems if the previous supplied continues to develop existing products; otherwise the only option is a complete break and new orientation. In this paper, an example of the introduction of a new programming and DNC system is described, in which over 10 000 existing programs could be rescued in only four weeks without disrupting the production routine.
