The wind and react method has been used to construct small size superconducting coils with Bi-2212/Ag single core and multifilamentary round wires. Critical current measurements vs field and temperature performed on short wire samples and coils, treated at the same time in furnace, demonstrate wire degradation during coil manufacturing. Specific caracterizations and tests, executed on our coil prototypes, allow to make considerations about the main causes of wire degradation to be removed in order to improve the manufacturing technology.
