Allegory Action

In this work we take a look at the action within the dramatic art, particularly in the play Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett. This task will be performed in three stages. In the first stage, we attempt to do a brief history of the concept of action: The starting point is Aristotle's Poetics, The discussion will be carried out through a reflection on the action in the modern world from Hegel's aesthetics and, finally, Francis Fergusson's thought will be added to the course, which reviews and reconsiders the concept of action in the twentieth century. With a few tools, in the second stage, the study will seek to understand the action in Beckett's play, and, therefore, the work's third stage will take place: relate the action of Waiting for Godot to the concept of allegory by Walter Benjamin.
