PULSED LASER INTERACTION WITH ANTIMONY SINGLE-CRYSTAL (111) SURFACE

摘要
Sb(111) was treated under ultra high vacuum conditions by the radiation of a high power pulsed excimer laser in the far UV (lambda = 193 nm). The surface modifications by the laser irradiation as a function of the pulse energy density (PED) and of the annealing repetition number (ARN) were examined. Surface analysis by Auger electron spectroscopy indicated that a clean and ordered surface may be obtained by this technique. In particular, a strong chemical reduction was observed for PED in the range 100 to 130 mJ/cm2.
