APPROACH TO THE USE OF MARIJUANA IN THE UNIVERSITY CAMPUS: THE CASE OF UNIVERSIDAD DE CALDAS

Objective. To reflect about the consumption of psychoactive substances in university students, focusing on marihuana inside the university campus. This paper shows some research findings of a research project that has been carried out with university students about the use of psychoactive substances. Methodology. Using the snowball technique, students consuming marihuana were identified and interviews were carried out in order to know about the marihuana consumption practices in the university campus, the activities related to that consumption and the areas involved. Results. It is argued that, in spite of psychoactive drugs consumption being prohibited inside the university campus, the flexible university regulations produce territorialization processes of spaces for these practices. Conclusion. With the above in mind, the aim is to contribute with the knowledge about the consumption practices and related elements to this practice.
