摘要
Experimental observations of the effect of microwave fields on an obstructed glow discharge are described. Microwave pulses with peak powers of approximately. 13 kW ana 1 mu s duration are applied to an evacuated tube containing air or hydrogen at pressures in the range 0.5 Pa to 50 Pa with an e. electrode separation of 19 mm. The voltage across me discharge tube decreases when the microwave pulse is applied and then recovers to a nigh value (several kilovolts) after the pulse ceases, in a time which is characteristic of the plasma decay.
