The authors of this article used linear and non-linear multiple correlation analysis for investigating the relationship of the magnetic properties of cold-rolled textured and lightly textured steels containing 3%Si to the grain size and shape, texture, amount of nonmetallic phase present, and sheet thickness. The optimum grain size in electrical engineering steel depends on the degree of sheet texturing. In textured steels, it is found to be in the 3. 5 - 20 mm range, while in lightly textured steels it varies between 0. 25 and 0. 4 mm.
