Synthesis and thermal characterization of cardopolysulfone of 1,1'bis(3-methyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) cyclohexane with 4,4'-difluorodiphenyl sulfone

摘要
Cardopolysulfone of 1,1'-bis(3-methyl-4-hydroxphenyl) cyclohexane has been synthesized by solution polycondensation of 1,1'-bis(3-methyl-4-hydroxyphenyl) cyclohexane and 4,4'-difluorodiphenyl sulfone in DMSO. The structure of the PSMeBC has been supported by elemental, IR and NMR spectral data. The density of PSMeBC has been determined by partial specific volume method and compared with calculated values. PSMeBC has been analyzed on DTA and TGA at three different heating rates in N-2 atmosphere in order to evaluate kinetic parameters. DTA showed glass transition temperature at about 207 degrees C. PSMeSC is stable up to about 360 degrees C and involves two step degradation. Kinetic parameters are determined according to various theories of thermal methods.
