摘要
The friction and wear properties of SiC/SiC couples were investigated experimentally. Dry pin-on-disk tests were conducted in air at room temperature under various loads ranging from 5 N to 100 N. An hydrated silicium oxide film forms during sliding by aggregation of wear debris, and functions as a lubricating film to reduce friction and wear. The time required to form this film increases with increasing the applied load. When the wear debris are removed continuously during sliding the lubricating film does not form and friction and wear remain high.
