摘要
We have expanded upon our previous report of using calcined boron-beta zeolite as a reactant for zeolite syntheses. We have found that for a given organic template, product selectivities can be altered by simply changing the starting B/SiO2 ratios. An adamantane-derived template which affords the B-SSZ-24 (AFI) structure at low starting boron concentrations, surprisingly gives SSZ-33 if extra borate is added to the reaction mixture. We further explored the synthesis parameters for the large-pore, multidimensional borosilicate SSZ-33, and found that for three given templates, there are three preferred methods of SSZ-33 synthesis, exemplifying the influence of inorganic and physical factors on the synthesis process. In addition, it has been observed that some organic molecules can act as inhibitors, rather than as a structure directors, in the conversion process to other crystalline phases.
