Reversible optical changes mainly due to thermal effects in parylene-coated amorphous Ga-Se-S films (approximately 200 nm thick) are described. A distinctive feature is that there are large differences of transmittance DELTATR between the 'bleached' and the 'darkened' states for lambda = 633 nm. A maximum value of DELTATR was observed to be 72% for the composition S0.03(Ga0.05Se0.95)0.97.
