摘要
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the usefulness of vaginoscopia with "office hysteroscopy" in the follow-up on the vaginal vault in hysterectomized patients. The study covered 40 patients hysterectomized during the period from 2006 to 2010, subject to undergo follow-up for the control of the vaginal vault. In the first group, composed of 20 patients, the follow-up was conducted by hysteroscope vaginoscopic approach, while in the second group composed of 20 patients a control visit was made with speculum to see the vaginal vault. The examination conducted with "office hysteroscopy" allowed the visualization of the vaginal recesses and vaginal corners in 20 cases (100%), and 10 targeted biopsies (50%) were carried out. In patients (4 cases, 20%) undergoing regular medical check with the application of speculum it was possible to see the vaginal corners and vaginal recesses and no targeted biopsies were performed (0%). The vaginoscopic approach using instruments for hysteroscopy is better than the inspection conducted by using a speculum in the ability to display carefully the vaginal vault, angles and vaginal recesses. The possibility of making targeted biopsies in pathological vaginal conditions needs a deep histological investigation. As concerns the good tolerability of patients to the examination, it can be considered that a screening instrument should be included in the routine follow-up of all hysterectomized patients.
