The Philosopher and the filmmaker: Merleau-Ponty and the cinema thought

摘要
The article aims to equate the links between three formulations by Merlau-Ponty about the concept of image: the fact that it is not a "second thing", its mutual precession with the "what is" and the fact that we see "according to or with" images. These three notions are mapped on his work, including some unpublished manuscripts. We conclude that the movie experience demonstrates these three aspects of the image, but that the field of philosophy still can't get enough theoretical consequences from them.
