摘要
Normative analysis was performed with simulation modelling to formulate farmers' and researchers' roles in achieving higher productivity and maintaining sufficient stability in rice production. One hundred years' generated weather sets were used The results indicated that the whole range of transplanting dates could be used with equal net returns provided the seedling age could be selected appropriately. Early transplanting dates ensured safety from flood damage but the opportunity for manipulating seedling age was limited because of low temperature, whereas late transplanting dates showed sufficient flexibility in seedling age, variability in yield was very high due to early flooding. An appropriate breeding strategy, by making some modifications in the existing varieties, could reduce the variability in yield for late transplanting dates and could facilitate manipulation of a wider range of seedling ages at early transplanting.
