摘要
Acid-base interactions in adhesion phenomena are of considerable importance. The development of techniques of characterization of acid-base properties of solid materials is thus compulsory. These methods rely either on the behaviour of probe molecules interacting with the material under study (XPS, IR, IGC), or on the direct measurement of XPS chemical shifts which are related to these properties. We present a few examples of the use of these techniques to characterize metal oxide and polymer surfaces, and describe for the first time the surface properties of a conducting polymer (polypyrrole) and its related insulating form as studied by IGC.
