摘要
The effect of multiple Coulomb scattering on the stopping ratio of charged particles, particularly muons, in inhomogeneous matter has been calculated for a variety of geometries. A large reduction results from scattering out" in the case of rods or plates of high-Z material aligned parallel to the incoming beam and embedded in low-Z material. For spheres the effect is small but not negligible. A possible application is proposed. © 1979 North-Holland Publishing Co."
