APPLICATION OF THE SEMIQUANTAL APPROXIMATION TO INNER-SHELL IONIZATION

摘要
An approximation based on the WKB method to describe inner-shell ionization processes induced by heavy charged particles is presented. It is shown that this semiquantal approximation agrees, in general, fairly well with the well known semiclassical approximation except in the region of large impact parameters where considerable discrepancies were found.
