A sixty-three-year-old man was found to have a 6.5 cm abdominal aortic aneurysm on routine follow-up six months after renal transplantation. Renal function did not deteriorate over the operative period. In such circumstances, the operation should be designed to minimize the period of renal ischemia, but specific techniques to maintain normotensive renal perfusion are not required. © 1990, Sage Publications.
