The medical history has been regulated up to date by different legislative dispositions in the General Law of Health 14/1986, 25 of April. With the Law 41/2002, 14 of November, basic and regulator of the patients autonomy and of rights and obligations of clinical information and documentation, the rights and obligations of the patients and users and professionals are put up to date, with them the relativity of the medical history. In this essay, we expose the content of the Law 41/2002, its references to other legislative rules and bibliography references. The Law defines the medical history, its contents, functions and uses, it 's support and conservation, defines the property of the medical history and the characteristics of its access and custody, as the privacity and confidentiality of the medical history.
