Relations between man and animals have been treated in an interesting essay, which relations are far away of the point when animals gave not only their labour power, fur, meat, etc. to the man but also they were reliable partners in a fight carried for the survival. Nowadays, in the intensive animal husbandry, production of the products of animal origin - in spite of the existing regulations of animal welfare law - is not free from cruelty to animals even in a country with highly developed agriculture like Germany. High production demanded from the animals requires more and more energy, first of all grains. For this reason, modern pesticides are used to a great extent, the residues of these appear even in the drinking water. Not only the amount of meat, eggs, milk increased but also the amount of liquid manure and farm refuses. Large production surplus develops which - first of all due to the low price means a great disadvantage for the developing countries. When the majority of produced meat arrives at the cooling halls, who will show sympathy at all to our partner creatures,; to the animals? The formerly existing close connection with the animals is missing in the large-scale animal husbandry. Under these circumstances we can not speak about animal welfare, especially not in case of crowded animal keeping, indelicate animal transportation and cruel exploitation of the organism of animals. That is the reason that the so-called ''production units'' are closed for the visitors in many places. And for all these not only the animal keepers but-also the governments are responsible.
