INFRARED-SPECTRA OF SIMULTANEOUSLY STRETCHED AND CORONA-POLED PVDF IN POLARIZED-LIGHT

摘要：
Simultaneous stretching and corona poling (SSCP) of polymers at elevated temperature greatly improves the piezo- and pyroelectric coefficients. Piezoelectric constant d(31) Of PVDF has been found to increase from 30 pC/N to almost 60 pC/N by SSCP method as compared to first stretched and then corona poled (STCP) value(1). IR spectra in a polarized light taken in E(perpendicular to) and E(parallel to) modes reveal almost total conversion of alpha-phase to beta-phase crystallities in SSCP mode as compared to STCP mode. X-ray scans also confirm increase in beta-phase in SSCP films over STCP films.
