摘要
Salat (prayer), which has an exceptional place among other prayers, is described as timely worship made obligatory in Qur'an. Salat, whose origin is prayer and which expresses a certain prayer type, is a prayer no sharia can be deprived of it though it displays some differences from sharia to sharia. In numerous verses, there is a direct or an indirect great emphasis on performing Salat accurately and regularly and on its times and rules. However, such questions as "Are five times of Salat we perform mentioned in Qur'an? Or how many times of Salat are pointed in Qur'an? And can we infer five times of Salat a day from Qur'an?" have been occupying the agenda for a long time. In this manuscript, Salat times, the wisdoms that Salat is prayed these times, the different meanings of the word, "Salat", expressing prayer in Qur'an and other words conveying the meaning of Salat and the importance of this prayer have been tried to be investigated in accordance with Qur'anic verses; and the interpretations of interpreters of Qur'an about this issue have been given place. Besides, middle Salat, which is exclusively emphasised in Qur'an, has been focused on; and narrations on this matter has been studied and evaluated.
