The public politics of woman and gender in Bogota: tensions and successes

In the beginnings of the 21st Century Bogota city presents important changes in its government system and the political culture of its inhabitants. The changes that have occurred have generated multiple researches. Notwithstanding, the works carried out have disregarded the recognition of the "women's stuff" and the gender perspective in the government agendas. This paper has two objectives: 1. To make a comparative analysis of the most important public policies oriented to transform the inequality and subordination relation between men and women, encouraged in the two last development plans of the District Capital. 2. To identify and analyze the conceptual and operational tensions that exist in the policy making processes.
