AN ANALYSIS OF THE B(2)SIGMA(+)-X(2)SIGMA(+) EMISSION OF SIN - DEPENDENCE OF THE ELECTRONIC-TRANSITION MOMENT ON THE SI-N INTERNUCLEAR DISTANCE

摘要
The relative intensity of the SiN (B2SIGMA+-X2SIGMA+) emission spectrum was analyzed. The relative value of the electronic transition moment, R(e)(R), was found to depend linearly on the internuclear distance, R, as R(e)(R)=1-0.493(12)(R/angstrom) (1.055 less-than-or-equal-to R less-than-or-equal-to 1.835 angstrom). The validity of the r-centroid approximation is discussed on the basis of the Rydberg-Klein-Rees potentials of the B2SIGMA+ and X2SIGMA+ states of SiN. This strong R dependence, which is similar to that observed for the isovalent CN(B2SIGMA+-X2SIGMA+) transition, indicates a strong R dependence of the configuration mixing in the B2SIGMA+ state of SiN.
